Next Concert
Brian Connelly
and his 1810 Rosenberger Piano
Friday, February 24, 2012
Reception Starting at 7:30 - Concert at 8:00
The great composers of the Classical and early Romantic eras were inspired to write some of their most creative works for the perfected Viennese piano-- an instrument startlingly different from the pianos we play today. The Viennese piano was a uniquely expressive instrument, with an amazing range of colors and effects, and capable of magical atmospheres of pathos and brilliance.
Pianist Brian Connelly will play an exquisite 6-pedal piano from 1810 built by one of the era's greatest makers. The program will include works by Mozart, Haydn, and Weber, as well as an eerie and unforgettable tone- poem by Beethoven: when you hear it on this piano, you'll know why it's called 'Moonlight'.
Ticket are $25.00 for adults / $15.00 for students, ($30.00/$20.00 at the door).
